I look forward to seeing the movie 2012? this weekend. The CGI looked great. Maybe the story and acting won’t be up to par for everyone but the 6 bucks I’ll be paying for the matinee…. well… I think it will be well worth the price for the big special effects alone.

Regarding the Day After Tomorrow:

The movie never explained why wolves suddenly lost all fear of people. Was it frozen out of them? Huh.

However there was one great redeeming scene in the picture, for which I forgave all it's other minor sins. They were burning tax codes (gotta love that!) and one of the characters was hanging on to one particular book. When questioned, he said (paraphrasing):

"This is an original Gutenburg Bible. I don't want to live in a world where this book doesn't exist."

In Superman, let us not forget that applying such pressure on a small point would cause him to penetrate the island like a needle.

Thanks for pointing out the flaw in the Mummy I didn't notice that but i think you're forgetting something. The light for some reason hit the lowest part of the ground first and not the highest point (which would be the pyramid). When the Sun rises the light hits the highest points first (pyramid) and works it's way down(the pyramid naturally), in the movie it was backwards.

As for James Corbon's comment. We understand there will be elements stretched and technology unseen but these go beyond that and violate physics and chemistry and logic. Too much "fiction" and not enough "science"

While kelvin really isn't a degree anymore (since 1967), it still has a lot to do with the boiling and freezing of water. While 0k is the absolute zero, the increment of each subsequent k is arbitrarily set as the increase which is required to reach the triple point of water divided by 273.16.

Backward compatibility sucks.

There are no degrees kelvin. It is an absolute scale based on absolute 0 as opposed to Celsius which is relative to the boiling/freezing point of water of Fahrenheit which is relative to the temperature of ice in a German river and a horses ass.
